When the glass is shown at her feet, she is wearing socks
Line of Events
Having witnessed a strange, traumatic incident involving a patient, the psychiatrist is increasingly convinced that she is threatened by some supernatural entity. A couple of days before the release of the film on September 30, 2022, the actors from the film appeared at various baseball games, sitting behind home base motionless and smiling, looking at the camera, not moving, despite the understandable concern of fans in the hall, wearing Smile T-shirts. Another soon appeared in the background with the crowd during the Today show. At about the 31 minute mark, Rose breaks a glass when her alarm goes off. A few seconds later, when she checks the door, she is wearing lace-up shoes.
You are not real!
Based on what happens later at the party, there are a few continuity issues that may not be “mistakes” but actually intentional to show the “breaks” in Rose’s mind/sanity. Rose Cotter: It’s not real! Monster: Your mind makes it real!. The beginning and end logos of Paramount have a curved line in the shape of a smile at the foot of the mountain. I turned out to be wrong
Lollipop Author: Beverly Ross and Julius Dixon Performed by: The Chordettes. One of the very few horror films that could surprise me this year. When the trailer came out, I thought it was going to be another stupid, incompetent mess. From the very beginning, everything from the direction, acting, cinematography and sound design was absolutely stunning. How a low-budget film could achieve this was beyond me, but the film was simply mesmerizing.
Smile handled it decently, but don’t expect an Oscar-worthy performance
The horror was pretty effective with screamers and horror moments, although some of them were cheap, but not that distracting. They were able to build up the tension so well and were never going to tone it down until the very end. The plot was simple enough to tie together all the relevant characters to make me care about them, although some might complain that 90% of the characters were just filler, and I could agree with that. However, the main character was good enough to carry the entire show. One thing that many viewers may not like is the use of mental illness.
I would say it was worth the time for horror fans like me
And no, it wasn’t exactly the main theme, so try not to leave the film halfway through, because there will be surprises towards the last act of the film. Try it. This was not just some kind of continuation of “The Curse of Annabelle” or “Astral”, but something more.
